This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24 NLT
The holidays have been so busy and, for me, that included family time, holiday gatherings, and travel.
After traveling to celebrate the New Year, I decided to take an extra day off just to give myself time to recover and get back to my routine at home.
Thankfully, I arrived home just in time to receive some packages of build your own furniture that I have been waiting on.
This ottoman is so awesome that I had to share it with you.
It literally took me about 15 minutes to unbox and assemble the ottoman that I think will be going in our guest room 🤔 but I’m waiting on my husband to co-sign its placement.

I love gift wrapping.
To me, it’s all in the details.
While wrapping some Christmas gifts, I decided to wrap a wedding present before the holidays and travel sneak up on me.
This project update is long overdue. A few months ago, I received these mailbox numbers to review.
The delay in posting this is due to a few things — the primary thing being that the numbers are applied with an adhesive backing and we’ve had some rainy weeks here in New Orleans. The other reason being– LIFE– it’s just been busy around here, but that’s another story for another day… or year.
I love making dinner with my husband. I’ve shared this in previous posts, but one of our biggest moves towards losing weight and adopting a healthier lifestyle was to make more of our meals at home.
This actually started while we were dating. My husband, then boyfriend, would be quick to take me out to restaurants around the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina… until one day, I suggested we go get groceries and cook together instead– this girl was tired of eating out… and packing on the pounds…(Those love lbs., ain’t no joke!)
