If there’s one thing we go through QUICKLY in my household it’s olive oil.

We use it for 99% of our cooking.

We learned some really interesting facts about olive oil during our time in Israel last year.

In the coming months, I’ll be reviewing a few a few more bottles of olive oil and sharing other tips for selection, usage and proper storage.

Mardi Gras 2018 – It Pays to Be Prepared!

This year’s Mardi Gras did not turn out as we planned.

I thought we would celebrate a friend’s birthday at the Zulu Ball and then go off on a week long cruise to commemorate my husband’s birthday and our 5th wedding anniversary, but life happens.

Thankfully, my husband is now recovering at home and I was still able to participate in some local events and re-purpose some of the items I’d packed for our cruise:

A Prayer for the Brokenhearted

Many think of today as the “Day of Love,” but for several, today is a very real reminder of the aching pain of a broken heart.

I’m praying for and with you.

It’s been on my heart all week to pray for brokenhearted people.

At some point, we’ve all been hurt to a depth we never thought we’d feel. I know because I’ve lived it. If you haven’t, yet, just keep on living. Not wishing bad on anyone, but living and loving/investing in others leaves us vulnerable. Especially if there comes a day when that love is not returned. But you can get through it and YOU WILL get through it as long as you understand that YOU ARE LOVED. Maybe not by that person in the way you hoped for, but GOD loves you TRULY, HONESTLY and DEEPLY with an EVERLASTING LOVE. I’m praying for you.

Our Flu Fight

I’ve been a bit MIA, but with good reason.

My husband was recently hospitalized with pneumonia complications following the flu.

It’s still rather surreal.

Even after seeing all the reports in the news, I never imagined that my husband would be one of those people.
