Hello again!
I hope you are reading this after having a restful weekend. Per my usual, I’ve been ripping and running (including some impromptu trips to get new plants), but we all know I wouldn’t have it any other way! 🙂
I’ll be sharing more about those plants with you later. (If you follow any of my social media pages, you probably have a guess what some idea of the plants that I’m referring to 😉 ).
But, back to the subject of this post. As the title suggests, one of my other renewed interests is fishing! This is something I haven’t done for years!
I have the clearest memory of my dad fishing in my hometown and him catching a giant bass. When I say, “giant,” I mean, GIANT. This fish was so big, my dad was featured in the local newspaper for his “Catch of the Day.”
It’s some 20 years later and I still think back fondly on that memory from my childhood. I learned about some of the local opportunities in my area for open fishing from one of my church members and finally took her up on an offer to join her for an early morning, socially distanced fishing session.
I had a BALL…. and I CAUGHT A CATFISH!
Check me out y’all!
This is just the relaxing activity I need in my life. It can be done alone or with friends (at a safe distance) and fish guts are a GREAT organic fertilizer for your garden. It’s a win and a bonus!
Sadly, my little Monica isn’t old enough to enjoy fishing (hooks and lure aren’t safe for toddlers)…. or is she?
I received this Fishing Game to review and Monica is already a fan (look at those cute little hands)!
I love the high quality graphics and the cute kid-size magnetic fishing poles.
Here’s the product link if you’d like to check it out: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TN62DQW
Here’s a video unboxing I did on my YouTube channel
So, at least for now, this will be the extent of Monica’s exposure to fishing. We are still dealing with the pandemic in Louisiana and keeping her safe is my highest priority. Weekends are usually dedicated to “Daddy-daughter” time, so that means mommy will be making some early morning runs to go fishing…. because fishing counts as self-care too! 😀
I will be sharing more fishing updated here on the blog and would love to hear about any new hobbies you’ve picked up/returned to doing in the comments!
