Tie it With a Bow

I love gift wrapping.

To me, it’s all in the details.

While wrapping some Christmas gifts, I decided to wrap a wedding present before the holidays and travel sneak up on me.

This wedding isn’t until January, but I get to enjoy my handiwork between now and then.

If you give me a spool of curling ribbon, I go into a zone that’s all my own.

I was inspired by this wrapping paper. I purchased it a few years ago and thought it was an eye catching pattern. It’s also very stiff, which I like because that gives me sharp folds and creases.

I decided to do something different with my curling ribbon. That led to these abstract looking crisscrossed runners you see here.

Then, I started with the curled ribbon bow.

I did all of the curling with this pair of scissors. I reserve this pair for gift wrapping!

Next, I used these gold dots to give the ribbon a cleaner look. It hides all of the knots that I made to get a “fuller looking” bow.

For the final step, I added this gift tag. I used two pieces of curling ribbon to tie it in place and that was the finishing touch!

Are you doing any gift wrapping this week? Let me know in the comments. Feel free to share and tips or shortcuts you find particularly useful.
