One thing you may soon realize about me is that I talk about daily devotionals…A LOT.
It’s because I truly value them and the difference they make in my life.
My day just doesn’t flow as smoothly when I don’t start with my quiet prayer time and a devotional that kick starts my personal Bible study and morning meditations.
We can all carry around fickle feelings and frustrations from previous days or become overwhelmed by the thought of the tasks awaiting us once our day begins, but we can REST and stay in peace when we go to the Father, FIRST.
For me, that’s when the scripture, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light,” becomes SO REAL in my life. I do much more than the average person my age, but the Lord gives me the grace to do it DAILY.
Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
When I seek Him, FIRST, He gives me an understanding of tasks and activities that I need to begin and provides clarity about things I need to put down and/ step away from.
This morning, it was on my heart to repost a devotional from Jesus Always:
“I have good intentions for you. They may be radically different from what you hoped or expected, but they are nonetheless good. I am Light; in Me there is no darkness at all. So look for My Light in all your circumstances. I am abundantly present in your moments. Your assignment is to be open to Me and My ways with you. Sometimes this requires relinquishing things you had planned or dreamed. You need to remember and wholeheartedly believe that My way is perfect, no matter how hard it is.”
