As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
Psalms 18:30 NKJV
These three words stood out to me this morning as I read today’s verse.
I went on to consider the way safety equipment is tested.
Think of your vehicle:
Most have some type of crash or impact rating that it received after a slew of intensive testing.
They get hit from every side, in a mock version of almost every known condition, and then told how they rank compared to other vehicles in their class.
Now consider this type of testing and the Bible:
The word of the Lord is PERFECT. When we look back over the years of testing it is ALWAYS faithful. That’s what it means to be PROVEN. It is the best shield we can ever ask for… but, do we take advantage of that protection as much as we should?
Or do we venture out into the world leaving ourselves vulnerable and uncovered?
In order for a shield to be effective, we have to first pick it up and begin to use it. Trust is also essential. If we don’t trust that our shield will provide protection, will we really value having it (much less, using it)?
Just sharing my thoughts this Friday morning.
I’m praying you pick up your shield and make it a great day! 💖💗
