Happy Palm Sunday!  I hope you all are enjoying this blessed day and having a restful afternoon.  (I sure I am 🙂 ).  I know much of the day has already gone by, but I still wanted to share today’s Bible Verse of the Day and a Prayer with you!
They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,
“Hosanna!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Blessed is the king of Israel!”
John 12:13 New International Version (NIV)
Prayer for Today
Today’s prayer is from another one of my favorite blog/digests, Hope for the Brokenhearted. I have post several of her prayers on my various social media channels in the past. This is a special prayer for Psalm Sunday.
Prayer For April 9th
Today we remember the triumphant entry you made in Jerusalem … we understand it was the beginning of the end of your earthly life…but at the time, you alone clearly understood what was going on and what needed to happen…how quickly things changed in that week…from cheering crowds proclaiming you King, to crowds cheering for your death. We can only imagine how you felt that week…how the apostles and those who loved you felt as they watched so much unfold before their eyes…the range of emotions you all experienced during that week is hard to comprehend…Your Word says you despised the shame and you endured the cross for the joy that was before you… for the joy that you knew was coming…for the salvation and redemption that was coming…for the new life that was coming…for the defeat of death that was coming…for the hope that was coming…
May this week take on deeper meaning and significance for us than ever before. May this week be a time of reflection and gratitude. May we view our pain, infirmities, hardships and losses in the light of all that Jesus went through. May we think about your great love for us and your incredible sacrifice…please speak to our hearts and help us to find new revelations and new insights about you and all you’ve done…may we just be so in awe of you and fall more in love with you… may we renew our commitment to you and fan the flames that first burned so brightly when we first came to know you as our Lord and Savior.
We know that just as you entered Jerusalem to great fanfare on that Palm Sunday, there is coming a day when you are going to triumphantly enter our world again with even greater fanfare… every eye will behold you and your resurrected glory. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that you are Lord…there will be no doubts or denials…everyone will see clearly, you are who you say you are. You are so worthy to be praised our Lord, Savior, and King! There are not words enough to express our gratitude to you for your immeasurable gift and sacrifice for us. We give you this day. We give you this week. May we be profoundly aware of your presence. May many be saved this week as they hear the good news of the gospel. Please give strength and energy to all who are in ministry as they put in long, extra hours to share the message and hope of your death and resurrection. We ask these things in your precious name. Amen
May your week be blessed!
In His love,
Debbie
