It’s been on my heart all week to pray for brokenhearted people.
At some point, we’ve all been hurt to a depth we never thought we’d feel. I know because I’ve lived it. If you haven’t, yet, just keep on living. Not wishing bad on anyone, but living and loving/investing in others leaves us vulnerable. Especially if there comes a day when that love is not returned. But you can get through it and YOU WILL get through it as long as you understand that YOU ARE LOVED. Maybe not by that person in the way you hoped for, but GOD loves you TRULY, HONESTLY and DEEPLY with an EVERLASTING LOVE. I’m praying for you.
I found these prayers that I combined and will continue to pray as long as it’s on my heart. Sharing them here for others to use.
“God, you care deeply for broken-hearted people. This is a promise you make: You are close. We pray for all those who are crippled by broken relationships. Our hearts take the blow of disappointment. We feel crushed because our hopes are dashed. God, heal broken hearts. We cannot fix our own wounds. But you can. If pieces of our heart have been lost, or are held captive by another, recover them and bring them back to us and miraculously “put us back together” so that our heart is whole again. You are a mender of broken hearts. We ask for this miracle, in the name of Jesus.”
O God,
whose love restores
the brokenhearted of this world:
pour out your love,
we beseech you,
upon those who feel
lonely, abandoned, or unloved.
Strengthen their hope
to meet the days ahead;
give them the courage
to form life-giving friendships;
and bless them with the joy
of your eternal peace.
Amen.
