Verse of the Day – Titus 2:11 – November 15, 2017 –
For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God
Titus 2:11-12 NLT

Verse of the Day – Galatians 6:7
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

Music Monday: Time
So, I’m still playing Ne-Yo on repeat.
With more thought to why I love his music, I realized two things:
- He’s SUCH a TRUE storyteller. From start to finish, his compositions tell a full story. On top of that, many of his albums are collections of stories that give the listener a full-fledged experience when played in sequence. I just love that.
- His style (lyrical and performance) reminded me a lot of Michael Jackson and I LOVE, love, LOVE Michael’s music.
Here’s another song from Ne-Yo that is one of my favorites. The subject is somewhat “heavy,” but it will give you a good sense of what I mean in the points I’ve listed above.
I’m including two clips because one is acapella (That boy can SANG!) and the other includes the arrangement which is AH-MAZING!
That’s the last thing she said to you
And now when you call she don’t answer anymore
Or the line is busy and you can’t get throughIn the time it would take you to learn from your mistakes
In the time it would take to dial the phone
In the time it will take you to realize her greatness, she’ll be gone, she’s moved on
To someone who takes the time
Her love wasn’t a priority to you
You had other things on your mind
And now that it’s much too little and so far too late
The busy signals all that’s left behind
You’re all alone
In the time it would take you to learn from your mistakes
In the time it would take to dial the phone
In the time it will take you to realize her greatness, she’ll be gone, she’s moved on
To someone who takes the time
Hey, no one knows what they have until they don’t
And by then it doesn’t matter anymore
You’re all alone
In the time it would take you to learn from your mistakes
In the time it would take to dial the phone
In the time it would take you to realize her greatness, she’ll be gone (she’ll be gone)
In the time it will take you to realize her greatness, she’ll be gone, she’s moved on
Hang up the phone…

As I was writing this, I remembered that one of the few times I wormed my way though the crowd at Congo Square at the New Orleans Jazz Festival was to see Ne-Yo perform.
Anyone who knows me knows that’s saying A LOT. I do not like crowds or tight spaces and Congo Square can be BEYOND crowded for headliners like Ne-Yo. I found a few photos from that day. I even included some shots of me and my “bodyguard” 😂🤣aka the husboo 😍

1 Peter 1:24 – Verse of the Day
As the Scriptures say, “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades.
