Good afternoon everyone!
Today is a bit of a milestone. I think this is the first time I have consistently posted on the blog for 30 days in a row!
I thought it was important to start including the Verse of the Day on the blog, because we need to make sure that we take time to read and mediate on the word EVERY DAY.
I know, from my personal experience, that this life we live does not come without struggle.
Being a Christian does not make it any simpler of a life, but it does give us much to hope and trust in.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to understand that we HAVE to keep ourselves grounded in the Word and rooted in our Faith.
Life doesn’t get easier, we just become wiser about how we handle it and the ways in which we respond.
My days go best when I spend time praying and reading scripture BEFORE I do ANYTHING else (and throughout my day)! Many of my flaws and shortcomings haven’t changed (I’m just being honest) and if I don’t keep them in check they come right back out.
But, I’m not living just for me anymore.
I’m not living just for this life or this world or the opinions of others–
I’m LIVING TO LIVE AGAIN.
Eventually, I began including various praise and worship songs and some of the prayers that I receive from various subscription emails, because praise and worship and prayer and study go hand-in-hand for me. Those are some of the most intimate moments when the Lord really works on me and pours something into me that I can’t put into myself.
I pray that the process has been helpful for those that receive the email updates and follow my social media posts. It may not make any sense at all, but what can I say? I’m peculiar 🙂
I hope to continue doing this and will also be blogging more about some new and old topics 😆🙌
VERSE OF THE DAY
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Prayer for Today
Lord Jesus, I am looking and listening, and I am in the spirit. You have knocked and I have opened the door. Come into my heart and let us eat of the living bread and drink from the fountain that never runs dry. Today, I rejoice in You and I am exceedingly glad. Glory and honor belong to You, my Redeemer, my Elder Brother, my Lord. It is no longer I that lives, but Christ who lives in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God. My beloved is mine and I am His. Amen.
