April 8, 2017 Verse and Prayer for Today

Thank the Lord for those friends that come into our lives and love us through all of the highs and lows!

Today’s verse was right on time (Yep. I know I say that often, but it’s true!).

One of my closest friends will be getting married at the end of this month and I couldn’t be more excited. πŸ™ŒπŸ’ƒπŸ˜†

I’m her Matron of Honor and I’ve been praying about what words I’ll share at her wedding since the moment she asked me to serve in that role. πŸ’–

I’ve pretty much decided on what my “speech” will be and the process of doing so took my mind and heart on several trips down memory lane– those good times: our first trip to overnight camp (we were roomates😊), going to church together, awards ceremonies, college acceptances and graduations, when she stood by my side as my maid of honor — and those hard times: disagreements, fall-outs, sickness, family deaths, heartbreaks, job loss and other uncertainties.

BUT GOD.

In the TRUEST sense, the Lord has blessed me to have a friend that has been there for the highs and lows and who has loved me through them ALL– without sugar coating her opinions/counsel and while encouraging, challenging and inspiring me to be the woman God has called me to be.

You don’t come by that every day!

I don’t take it for granted and I know that’s when a friend is MORE than a friend.

She’s family. Β πŸ’—πŸ’–

I shared these photos with her earlier this week after they came up in my memories app.

Today’s scripture is really spot on with my current sentiments and I am grateful.

God is so intentional. It’s just amazing!

Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.

Β Prayer for Today

Today I choose to love others as You have loved me, and pray that Your Love will control my behavior toward my family and friends. I resist the compulsion to talk when others are silent; I will not be dismayed when I can’t β€œfix it.” Lord, I thank you for your steadfastness to each of Your children. You will never leave us nor forsake us. You are always with us. You sent the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Teacher and Guide. You remind us that God’s grace is always sufficient, and He will direct our paths of righteousness. You are upholding us with your victorious right hand in the name of Jesus.
